So, after years of using the application Game Maker by Mark Overmars, I have decided to expand my knowledge in game creation by learning an actual programming language. Thus, I am amidst studying C++ and all its wonder.
I've spent over a month studying so far, but no hint of gaming stuff yet...
How long until I get to draw sprites on the screen and make things move?
But now I'm wondering what to do once I have C++ under control. Should I use the Allegro libraries? Use Opengl or Directx? *shrug*
Any suggestions out there?

To Do List:
So. I've set out a list of things to learn... and/or refine.
HTML
I just need to refine this.
CSS
And refine this too!
Wordpress
Looks very interesting.
Javascript
I can make methods with it... but with little knowledge of how to use the syntax within the methods.
PHP
Must learn... must apply.
Mysql
So I can steal and keep your information!
C#
I really need to learn this for Unity 3d when it hits Windows.

Don't say you'll never...
I was not supposed to be a programmer!
I said that I would not do it.
But, when no one else is going to make the images move...
you're the only one to boss 'x' and 'y' around.
*sigh*
